Promise Me Forever (Promise Me #1.5) by Sarah Ashley Jones

THIS IS A FOLLOW UP NOVELLA TO PROMISE ME THIS.

Charlie Jennings and Jhett Hudson knew that a single moment could change everything.

It took them one song to find each other, one question to give them a chance, one kiss to fall in love, and one night to almost lose it all. But they had one thing other couples lack - pure, unconditional love - and that takes more than a moment to walk away from.

Falling in love is only the beginning. Forever is what happens next.

I loved Promise Me This. Promise Me Forever, not so much. It was more of an extended epilogue than a novella with a plot line. And the scenes were disjointed and not continuous at all. I have no idea how much time passed between the beginning and the wedding. Not only were there disjointed time jumps to the future, it kept unexpectedly jumping back into the past, which just added more confusion. Charlie's mom dies and it's only mentioned once at the wedding. I don't even know how she died! Charlie breaks down at one point because she's depressed after the loss of the baby, and that is never brought up again, nor is there much about working through their grief together.

I think Promise Me This is better as a stand-alone, because this sequel novella kind of made me forget how much I loved the first one.
